CGI Cinematic — Personal Project

A CGI music cinematic set in medieval times — not about the glory of war, but the silence that follows it.

Snow Remembers Everything captures small glimpses of a world after battle: the stillness, the weight, the loneliness of survival. What began as a series of concept paintings grew into a fully realized short film, built through a custom pipeline developed over years of experimentation.

Snow Remembers Everything

Snow Remembers Everything reflects on the loneliness of survival and the weight a soldier carries after the battle is won. Snow, in its stillness, becomes both witness and memory — covering the fallen, yet never forgetting.

Misty mountains covered in snow, shrouded in clouds.
A lone bird flying across a grey, overcast sky above mountains.
A medieval soldier in armor standing amid burning ruins and scattered fire embers.
Close-up of a medieval soldier in armor with flames and destruction in the background.
Close-up of a bloodied medieval knight in armor standing in the rain.
Crows feeding on fallen soldiers scattered across a battlefield.
Armored knight lying dead with arrows piercing his body, crows nearby.
Arrow floating in a pool of dark, blood-stained water on the battlefield.
Castle walls engulfed in flames with smoke rising into the night sky.
Tattered flags on a burning fortress, fire illuminating the battlements.
Silhouette of an armored knight standing against a backdrop of fire and smoke.
A lone knight facing a massive blaze, sparks and embers filling the air.
A weary knight in armor stands in a snowy wasteland, cape blowing in the wind.
The knight holds a sword, facing the desolate, snow-covered horizon.
A crow perches on the body of a fallen soldier in the snow.
Text on a grey background reads: “Snow Remembers Everything.”

Painting to cinematic

There are stories behind this project that never made it into the final cut — but they still belong to it. These paintings continue where the song ends, and fill the silence in between.

The project began as paintings before it became a cinematic. These artworks are not preliminary sketches — they are part of the story itself.

Dark cinematic scene of medieval knights on horseback carrying a black banner, riding through a war-torn castle gate surrounded by smoke, ruins, and fallen soldiers.
Black and white cinematic scene of two medieval knights on horseback, one carrying a tattered flag, surveying a battlefield filled with fallen soldiers and smoke rising in the distance.

Behind the Scenes

Over the years I've built my own workflow through trial, error, and experimentation across different tools. It doesn't follow a single industry standard — but every stage contributes something to the final result, and the output speaks for itself.

Most of the assembly, texturing, and animation is handled in Blender, then transferred to Unreal Engine via USD for a seamless scene handoff. Texturing is finalized in Unreal. Animation sequences run through Sequencer and render via Movie Render Queue.

Niagara simulations handle all particle and environmental effects — pushed as far as possible without exhausting GPU performance. Final compositing and color grading in After Effects and DaVinci Resolve, with Dehancer film emulation bringing the final look together.
